Our Founding Story

Standard University of Science was born from a bold vision: to create a world-class institution that would harness the power of science and technology to uplift communities and accelerate national development. Founded by a coalition of educators, engineers, and entrepreneurs in Bamenda, the university was established in response to the growing demand for skilled professionals in Cameroon’s emerging tech and industrial sectors.

From its inception, the university has been guided by a belief that education must be both rigorous and relevant — preparing students not only for jobs, but for leadership, innovation, and impact.

• Dr. Emmanuel Kopin. Tangunu – President & Founder: A renowned physicist and educator with over 25 years of experience in higher education and science policy.

• Eng. Roland Nkemanjong – Director of Innovation & Research: A tech entrepreneur and advocate for sustainable engineering in Africa.

Community Engagement

Standard University of Science believes in education that uplifts entire communities.
